Yarn Hunting and other knitting woes...

I'm going to start my new blog off on the right foot by immediately complaining. I have sooo much to complain about I don't know where to start, lol.  Well, let's begin with my right hand is sore and it's sore because too many woman in my life have been knocked up  I mean blessed with babies this year and I for some crazy reason feel obligated to knit at least one (more like 5) things for each baby.  This is no ones fault but my own, well it's also the fault of knitwear designers making adorable hard to pass up baby knits.  And baby knits are so much faster and cuter than adult knits!  Case in point, check out this sleep sack I made:

Oh and how about this flower set:

Waaay too cute for words right? Tell that to my aching hands.

Alright, onto my second more legitimate complaint....why can't all the craft stores carry all the colors in a line of yarn they offer?  I needed Lion Brand Cotton Ease yarn in "Almond" and had to go to three craft stores before I could find it...and of course it's in the store the farthest from my house.  Why, why, why *cough*Joann's*cough* would you NOT carry the off white shade in a line of yarn? Heck, they didn't even have WHITE.  I was almost ready to give up and rip out my project and restart with a different yarn when I finally found the right shade at A.C. Moore, which is of course the next town over.  I'm pretty sure I could have 3 major craft chains and a yarn store open in my backyard and I'd still have to travel 2 miles to find what I need. grumble, grumble.

Okay, now that I got that rant out of my system, I will resume knitting the project aforementioned yarn was for because it needs to be done by next Saturday.  Then I need to finish my Ravenclaw house vest by July 16th (I'm going to opening night of Deathly Hallows Part 2 as Moaning Myrtle) and then I need to cast on for another baby gift that needs to be done by July 24th.  We aren't even going to talk about that pretty summer sweater I started for myself back in April that's languishing away on a pair of circulars...we just aren't.
